Happy Independence Day, y'all!
We had a blast celebrating our beautiful country yesterday and we both feel so blessed to be here.
The Fourth of July has always had a special place in my heart, and I especially feel blessed this year since it's my first year home from my mission.
In the words of our beloved Bono, "I'm in love with this country called America. I'm a huge fan of America, I'm one of those annoying fans, you know the ones that read the CD notes and follow you into bathrooms and ask you all kinds of annoying questions about why you didn't live up to that....I'm that kind of fan. I read the Declaration of Independence and I've read the Constitution of the United States, and they are some liner notes, dude."
The ideals and dreams of our forefathers continue to inspire me to make America what it is meant to be. I continue to be very hopeful for our nation's future!
After camping out on University Avenue (and getting just a wink of sleep), we enjoyed the Provo Freedom Festival Parade!
We celebrated the occasion with all American hamburgers from JCW's (best in town!)
Stadium of Fire in our Red, White, and Blues (It was a phenomenal year... Cirque du Soleil & Kelly Clarkson were brilliant!)
Haha...I just love Oli Faye's photo bomb in this one.
and Julie trying to restrain her!
Steve & I are smiling so big because we know
what's going on behind us! :)
We
America!!!
